Michel Hazanavicius - President
Michel Hazanavicius began his career on TV with La Classe Américaine. His career took a step forward in 2006 with the offbeat spy film OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies, carried by Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo, and three years later OSS 117: Lost in Rio.
He reached international fame with The Artist. The film was unanimously praised around the world. Ultimate consecration, it received 5 Oscars including Best Film, and remains to this day the only French production to have won it.
In 2014, the filmmaker switches to a different tone with the drama The Search then three years later Godard Mon Amour, a biopic on Jean-Luc Godard.
In 2019, he released The Lost Prince, a colorful fairy tale carried by Omar Sy. His latest production Z (comme Z), remake of the Japanese film One cut of the dead by Shinichiro Ueda will be released soon, starring Romain Duris.
Camille
Camille is a singer-songwriter. After a literary preparatory course at the Lycée Henri IV in Paris and a degree in literature at the Sorbonne, she continued her studies at Sciences Po, where the administration validated the recording of her album "Sac de filles" as an end-of-study internship. The year 2005 is marked by her second album "Le fil". Her music evolves in a vocal and organic universe. She won two awards at the Victoires de la musique in 2006: Album Revelation of the Year and Revelation Stage Artist of the Year. Between 2007 and 2017, Camille released 4 albums.
Camille also composes for cinema. She signed the soundtracks of the films Fever by Raphaël Neal and J'irai où tu iras by Géraldine Nakache. She also interpreted four songs that she co-composed with Hans Zimmer on the soundtrack of the animated film The Little Prince. Camille gave her voice to Colette, the heroine of the animated film Ratatouille, and sang the theme song, "Le Festin". For the very first time, a song in French appeared in the international version of a Disney film.
Eric Judor
In 1994, Eric Judor created a comedy duo with Ramzy Bedia based on black humour and the absurd. In 1996, they launched their television career with the series H alongside Jamel Debbouze. In 2000, they starred in Don't Die Too Hard, which was a huge success. In 2007, they went behind the camera with 2 Alone in Paris. The same year they starred in Quentin Dupieux's Steak. At the same time, Eric carries out solo projects and directs the series Platane, the films La Tour 2 contrôle infernale in 2016 and Problemos in 2017. He also starred in Wrong Cops by Quentin Dupieux, Les Nouvelles aventures d'Aladin by Arthur Benzaquen and The Troubleshooter by Julien Guetta. In 2020, he played a part in Simply Black by Jean-Pascal Zadi, the following year he starred in the comedy The Last Mercenary and he will soon be seen in the series Weekend Family.
Laetitia Dosch
In 2013, Lætitia Dosch acted under the direction of Justine Triet in Age of Panic. She then worked with Christophe Honoré (Sophie's Misfortunes), Catherine Corsini (Summertime) and Maïwenn (My King). She played the lead role in Montparnasse Bienvenüe by Léonor Serraille, which received the Caméra d'or in 2017 in Cannes and earned her a César nomination. She then played the lead role in Gaspard at the Wedding by Anthony Cordier, and acted under the direction of Guillaume Senez in Our Struggles. In 2018, she imagined and created the show Hate at the Théâtre de Vidy-Lausanne, a singular duet between her and her horse. In 2020, she appeared in Marc Fitoussi's Appearances, and the following year in Danielle Arbid's Simple Passion. Next year, she will be in Irréductible by Jérôme Commandeur and A Change of Heart by Jérémie Elkaïm.
Tania De Montaigne
Tania de Montaigne is a French novelist and essay writer. She has received the Prix de la laïcité 2018, Prix Simone Veil 2015 and Prix des Arts Afro-Caribéens 2009. Her essay c was shortlisted for the 2016 Grand Prix des Lectrices Elle. Her essays Black, the unsung life of Claudette Colvin and L’Assignation, les Noirs n’existent pas have been adapted for the stage and put on in Paris at the Théâtre du Rond-Point in October 2021. She is also a screenwriter and works for television and cinema. Finally, Tania de Montaigne is a guest columnist for the French newspaper Libération.
Sidse Babett Knudsen
Sidse Babett Knudsen is considered one of the best Danish actresses of her generation. She made her screen debut in 1997 in Let's Get Lost, by Jonas Elmer, for which she received both the Robert and the Bodil Award for Best Actress. In 2007, she won Best Actress at the Rouen Nordic Film Festival for her lead in Susanne Bier’s After the Wedding. In 2011, she received the Golden Nymph Award in Monte Carlo, then a Bafta in 2012 for her role in Television Drama-series Borgen. Internationally, she plays in The Duke of Burgundy by Peter Strickland, A Hologram for the King by Tom Tykwers, Inferno by Ron Howards and the HBO series Westworld. Sidse has also starred in French films L’Hermine for which she received a French César Award, and La Fille de Brest by Emmanuelle Bercot. She recently shot the movie Juste ciel ! with Laurent Tirard.
SHORT FILM JURY
Rachel Lang - Presidente
Rachel Lang was born in Strasbourg, France (1984). After combining studies in philosophy with the dramatic arts in Strasbourg she entered the IAD film school in Belgium. Her graduation short film Pour toi je ferai bataille (I Will Fight For You) (2010) and Les navets blancs empêchent de dormir (White Turnips Make It Hard To Sleep) (2011) were internationally acclaimed (ten awards and over a hundred festival selections). Rachel went on to direct Baden Baden (2016), which marks the end of the trilogy. This debut feature started its international career at the 2016 Berlinale (Forum), was shown at more than sixty international film festivals across the globe, and released in over ten countries. Having long been engaged in the operational reserve of the French land forces, Rachel served in the Sahel Desert in spring 2017, during Operation Barkhane. Mon légionnaire (Our Men) is her second feature.
Alma Jodorowsky
Alma Jodorowsky is an actress, singer and director. In 2013, she plays in La Vie d'Adèle by Abdellatif Kechiche, revealing her to the general public. She then played in Kids in Love by Chris Foggin (2016), The Summer of All my Parents by Diastème (2016), The Starry Sky Above Me by Ilan Klipper (2018) and Yellow Saturday by Antonin Peretjatko (2021).She will soon be starring in Stephan Streker's The Enemy and Agnieszka Woszczyńska's Silent Land.On the music side, Alma founded the duo Burning Peacocks in 2014 and she collaborated in 2020 with the band La Femme on their new single "Paradigm". Alma is also pursuing a career as a director. She directs all of her band's videos but also those of Clara Luciani, Corine, Adrien Pallot and Klein. She is currently developing her first short fiction film.
Christa Théret
Christa Théret made her film debut at the age of 11 in Le Couperet, alongside José Garcia. At 17, she was chosen by Lisa Azuelos to play Sophie Marceau's daughter in LOL, which brought her to the attention of the general public and earned her a nomination at the César Awards in the category "Best promising actress" in 2010. She then starred alongside Jean Dujardin and Albert Dupontel in Bertrand Blier's The Clink of Ice, and went on to headline Fouad Benhammou's first film The Village of Shadows.
In 2012, she played Renoir's last muse with Michel Bouquet in the role of the painter. The same year, she was nominated again for a César Award for her role in Twiggy by Emmanuelle Millet. She will soon star in Conan La Barbare by Bertrand Mandico, The Fox by Matthias Luthardt and La Corde, a series by Dominique Rocher.
Hugo Becker
Hugo Becker became internationally popular thanks to his roles in the American series Gossip Girl and the film Damsels in Distress by Whit Stillman. He then made his mark in the series Chefs with Clovis Cornillac, Au Service de la France, and Baron Noir alongside Kad Merad and Niels Arestrup.
In 2021, he got his first leading role in the film The Last Journey by Romain Quirot. The film won the Méliès Prize for Best Work at the Stiges Festival.
He will soon be starring in Christian Duguay's Tempête with Pio Marmaï and Mélanie Laurent, but also in Rachid Hami's Pour la France with Karim Leklou and in the series Diane de Poitiers where he will be acting opposite a prestigious cast including Isabelle Adjani, Gérard Depardieu, Joey Starr, Olivier Gourmet, Guillaume Gallienne...
Samuel Prat
First a tour manager for musical bands and then a restaurant owner, Samuel Prat co-founded the Off-Courts Trouville Festival — an exchange between France and Quebec around short films — in 2000. He is the general coordinator of the Off Association (festival and Studio Off-Courts): festival, short film production, support for production, artistic residencies, image education, etc. Since 2016 he is also curator of "La Fête du court métrage", a national event dedicated to short films.
Sandor Funtek
For several years, Sandor Funtek has been playing roles in films under the eye of directors such as Abdellatif Kechiche, Jacques Audiard and Fabienne Godet. In 2017, he was given a role in Nico, 1988 by Susanna Nicchiarelli, which brought him to the Venice Film Festival where the film received the Best Film Prize in the Orizzonti section. He returned to the festival in 2018 with Sarah Marx's The Truk, for which he was also pre-nominated for the César for Best Promising Actor in 2020. He played Kool Shen in Audrey Estrougo's biopic Suprêmes, about the beginnings of the group NTM, selected Out of Competition at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival, where he was also seen in front of Ildikó Enyedi's camera in The Story of my Wife.
Zoé Wittock
Originally hailing from Belgium, Zoé grows up across Europe, Africa and Australia. She later completes her masters in Film Directing at the American Film institute, where she graduates summa cum laude with the film This is not an Umbrella. In parallel, she becomes a “Talent” of the Berlin Film Festival campus for her collaborations as a cinematographer. In France, after a couple of short films, she directs her first feature film JUMBO which earns her more than 70 selections in festivals around the world, including Sundance and the Berlinale, where she is awarded the “Gilde Filmpreis”. She is also nominated for the “Discovery Prize” at the European Film Awards and is named one of the 20 female directors to look out for in 2020. As a co-president of the SRF, Zoe campaigns for greater equality in films, while advocating for the protection of author’s right in the ever-changing industry.
