Sidse Babett Knudsen is considered one of the best Danish actresses of her generation.

She made her screen debut in 1997 in Let's Get Lost, by Jonas Elmer, for which she received both the Robert and the Bodil Award for Best Actress. In 2007, she won Best Actress at the Rouen Nordic Film Festival for her lead in Susanne Bier’s After the Wedding. In 2011, she received the Golden Nymph Award in Monte Carlo, then a Bafta in 2012 for her role in Television Drama-series Borgen. Internationally, she plays in The Duke of Burgundy by Peter Strickland, A Hologram for the King by Tom Tykwers, Inferno by Ron Howards and the HBO series Westworld. Sidse has also starred in French films L’Hermine for which she received a French César Award, and La Fille de Brest by Emmanuelle Bercot. She recently shot the movie Juste ciel ! with Laurent Tirard.

Sidse was a member of the feature film jury in 2021.
