Program

Solidarity Ukraine

As a European film festival, Les Arcs Film Festival cannot ignore the conflict that started this year in Ukraine. Cinema and, more broadly, Ukrainian culture will therefore be in the spotlight during this 14th edition.

Beyond the promotion of Ukrainian culture, we wish to bring concrete help to the Ukrainian population. Thus, a call for donations has been launched for the benefit of the Regional Perinatal Center of Kharkiv. The festival-goers will also have the possibility to make a donation at the festival's cash desk.

Come and enjoy an unusual experience during the screening of the film "Borsch, the secret ingredient" which takes its name from a traditional Ukrainian dish that you will be able to taste at the end of the session. This documentary, released in 2020, follows the journey of a famous chef across Ukraine in search of the different recipes of Borsch. This screening will take place on Sunday, December 11 at 12pm at the Coeur d'or cinema.

Discover the film "Luxembourg, Luxembourg", a dramatic comedy on the theme of family, released in 2022 and presented at the Venice and Toronto festivals. This screening will be held on Thursday, December 15 at 3:45 pm at the Bernard Taillefer Hall in the presence of the director Antonio Lukich.

Come and discover " Klondike ", released in 2022, this film evokes the tensions between Ukraine and Russia, already existing in 2014. This film won the directing award : World Cinema Dramatic at the last Sundance Film Festival. This screening will take place on Wednesday, December 14 at 1pm at the Coeur d'or cinema in the presence of the director Maryna Er Gorbach.

Finally, we received news from Ukraine from three great Ukrainian directors with whom we have a special connection at Les Arcs, Valentyn Vasyanovych, Dmytro Sukholytkhyy-Sobchuk and Oleh Sentsov. You will discover their films on VOD after the festival.
