YOUNG CRITICS LAB #4 EMILIE MAHÉ

Meet the team attending the 15th edition of the Les Arcs Film Festival!

Graduated in communication in Brussels then in cinematography direction and documentary filmmaking at the Madrid film Institute, Emilie Mahé entered the cinema industry moving from technical teams to coordinating film production. From South Africa, to Europe and South America, she is driven by her passion for other cultures and foreign experiences that open her to the international film scene.

In 2019, she directed and produced several chapters of a web series on portraits of activists with ecological and social actions for a French association. She then produced a short film included in a feature-length work ‘Dream Data’ she co- directed with Aula 9 collective, premiering in Madrid. She has also developed self-production projects and directed short films such as '15 kilos', or 'Piluka Retrato de una mujer', while working as a freelance photographer. 

Recently back in France, she previously was in Uruguay working as a production coordinator and heading the short film competition at the José Ignacio International Film Festival (JIIFF). During this time, she also played a pivotal role at a production agency, overseeing projects from conception to distribution.
