Awards
The Talent Village filmmakers competed for the T-Port prize worth €1,500.
JURY :
Marge Liiske (Head of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, Estonia)
Jamila Wenske (Producer, Germany, Achtung Panda!)
The T-Port Award went to Dana Lerer's Double Happiness, who impressed the jury with her courage to expose her own vulnerability and fearlessly push the boundaries of self-honesty, something artists should always do. She is therefore the winner of the €1,500 prize.
In the framework of the Co-production Village, the ArteKino International Prize of €6,000 was awarded to Rabia by German director Mareike Engelhardt.
The decision to award this prize to Mareike Engelhardt was based on the quality of her previous very good short film, which proves that she knows how to deal with a very difficult subject in an original and contemporary way. Her first feature film, which is a continuation of this short, appeared very promising and convincing.
ALPHAPANDA AUDIENCE ENGAGEMENT - €5,000
For the first time this year, Les Arcs Industry Village is pleased to collaborate with the company Alphapanda to award a prize focused on the digital marketing of film. All projects were eligible for this prize worth €5,000, consisting of €600 in advertising spend and €4,400 in kind, to develop a digital marketing strategy and implement a campaign on social networks at the time of the film's festival premiere.
Jury :
Mathias Noschis (Maketing Strategy Specialist and founder of Alphapanda)
Joanna Solecka (Maketing Strategy Specialist and Head of Alphapanda Poland)
The decision to award the prize to a promising new female voice that wants to tell a story of its time. "We are convinced that this gem will reach diverse audiences and that this prize will help promote its international distribution."
11 projects competed for this €10,000 prize, which comes in the form of image and/or sound post-production services.
Jury :
Mathilde Henrot (founder of Festival Scope, member of the Locarno International Film Festival selection committee)
Azize Tan (Baska Sinema, founder of Baska Sinema Ayvalik IFF).
The award goes to To sail close to the wind, directed by Gregoris Rentis and produced by Asterisk* (Greece), Byrd (Greece) and Good Fortune Films (France).
"We were very intrigued by the clips we saw, which made us curious about the film to come. We were amused by its slapstick comedy elements integrated in a documentary context, its original and tragi-comic approach to situations. The film is a reflection on the human condition and the state of the world today."
5 projects were in competition for this €50,000 prize which is dedicated to innovative projects, both in form and content.
Jury :
Mathilde Henrot (founder of Festival Scope, member of the Locarno International Festival selection committee)
Tara Maurel (Eurimages representative, in charge of cooperation, co-production and francophonie at the CNC).
The jury's motivation is as follows:
