Slope of fame

Romain Duris

Actor, France

With a dandy look and a broad smile, that’s how Romain Duris -guest of honour of the festival in 2018- arrived on the slope crossing Arc 1950 to sign his star.

Cédric Klapisch’s fetish actor who made him popular through 7 collaborations of which 5 have made more than a million admissions in theaters, Romain Duris has won the rank of cult actor of a generation after 52 films and 23 years of career. With more than 30 million admissions, the actor has received about 20 nominations and 6 awards, including 2 crystal globes for De battre mon coeur s’est arrêté by Jacques Audiard in 2006 and “Molière” the biopic by Laurent Tirard in 2008. He lent his talents to the greatest: Jan Kounen, Pascal Chaumeil, Eric Lartigau, Nicolas Boukhrief, Christophe Honoré, François Ozon, Michel Gondry, Tony Gatlif and Jalil Lespert; and has developed through his choices an eclectic and prolific filmography. As a versatile actor, he also joined the casting who dubbed the animated film Isle of Dogs by Wes Anderson last year while acting the same year in the Belgian film Nos batailles by Guillaume Senez (Les Arcs’ Snowflake!) nominatedato the César, selected for the Cannes Critics' Week and multi-awarded at the Magritte du Cinéma.
