Slope of fame

Olivier Gourmet

ACTOR, BELGIUM

The Belgian actor has in his 27 years of career more than one hundred films to his credit and has thus played for great European cinema names like Patrice Chéreau, Cédric Klapisch, Jacques Audiard, Bertrand Tavernier, Costa-Gavras, Abdellatif Kechiche, Pierre Scholler, Rebecca Zlotowski, Roschdy Zem, the Italian Michele Placido (Le Guetteur) and the Austrian Michael Haneke (Le temps du loup). Faithful to his fellow Belgians, the Dardenne brothers, he will shoot for them in eight feature films since 1995, including L'Enfant in 2004, Deux jours et une nuit in 2014 or Le Fils their third collaboration that earned him the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor in 2002. He knows how to pick successful projects, thus Pierre Jolivet’s thriller Jamais de la vie in which he is the headliner was multi-nominated at the Beaune festival.

In 2018, Olivier Gourmet was at Les Arcs to present Une intime conviction by Antoine Raimbault in which he shares the poster with Marina Foïs.
