Guillaume Nicloux can not be categorized. He is the author and the director of numerous movies From experimental to « film noir », including comedies, political movies, dramas or even mockumentaries. In 1990 he directed his first film Les Enfants Volants presented at the Toronto and Berlin Film Festival. In parallel, Guillaume Nicloux published a dozen novels from 1996 to 2000 and released in theaters during the same period three films, Punctured Life with Michel Piccoli and Arielle Dombasle, Faut pas rire du Bonheur - presented in Cannes and Montreal – and Le poulpe. Over the years that followed, he directed many actors and actresses, from his faithful associations with Isabelle Huppert, Gérard Depardieu, Josiane Balasko and Jean-Pierre Darroussin, to his collaborations with Marion Cotillard (A Private Affair), Catherine Deneuve and Monica Bellucci (The Stone Council) or Guillaume Canet and Vanessa Paradis (La Clef). Since The Nun - presented in competition in Berlin - Guillaume Nicloux inaugurates a new cycle in which are registered The Kidnapping of Michel Houellebecq, The End and Valley of Love (in the official competition in Cannes in 2015). After four collaborations with Gerard Depardieu in 5 years, Guillaume Nicloux begins another filiation with Gaspard Ulliel in the movie To the Ends of the World and directed in 2018 his first series for Arte / Netflix, Once upon a time


Guillaume Nicloux was our President of the Jury in 2019 and he awarded the Crystal Arrow to Valentin Vasyanovych for his film Atlantis
