A renowned writer, Danièle Thompson has written great hits such as La boum, Cousin Cousine (for which she will be nominated at the Oscars in 1977) and La Reine Margot (nominated at Les César in 1995). She also collaborated in the writing of several achievements of her father Gérard Oury such as La Grande Vadrouille, La Folie des grandeurs or Les aventures de Rabbi Jacob and thus accumulated nearly 90 million cinema admissions on her projects during her career. She moved to directing in 1999, notably with La bûche (Lumière Award for Best Screenplay in 2000), Décalage horaire, Fauteuils d'orchestre or Cézanne et moi.


Danièle Thompson was present at Les Arcs as Guest of honour of the festival in 2016.
