After a mysterious disaster, the few surviving humans find themselves unable to reproduce. All hope rests on five women who have developed a technology capable of creating human life outside the body. But the researchers cannot agree on the ethics or the terms of its deployment. Lacking consensus, they throw themselves wholeheartedly into the study of pleasure.
