A conference on supporting schemes when coproducing with Quebec.
Two cases studies, commented by their producers, will illustrate the conference :
« Fatima »by Philippe Faucon, 2016 Best Film at the Cesar (French Oscar) produced Nadim Cheikhrouha (Tanit Films / FR) and Serge Noël (Possibles Média / QC)
« Misery » by Fulvio Bernasconi, in competition at Les Arcs European Film Festival produced by Jean-Marc Fröhle (Point Prod / CH) and Nicolas Comeau (1976 Productions / QC).
Julie Morin, in charge of Business Relations at the SODEC, will present the different funds dedicated to coproduction in Quebec.
The conference will be moderated by Elisabet Cabeza from Screen International.
This year Quebec is honored at Les Arcs Coproduction Villlage. In partnership with the SODEC and the Délégation, a delegation of professionals from Quebec, is attending the festival.
Does the market sustain an emerging generation of female filmmakers ?

This conference is organized as part of Les Arcs European Film Festival’s program « Nouvelles Femmes de Cinéma ».
This conference will gather different key leaders of the industry :
- Anna Serner, Director of the Swedish Film Institute
- Xavier Lardoux, CNC Director of Cinema
- Austrian director and producer Jessica Hausner (“Lourdes”, “Hotel”...)
- the belgian producer Diana Elbaum who will present her new initiative « Boost camp », a training program dedicated exclusively to women directors.
A study on the uprising of a new generation of female directors in Europe and on initiatives and policies from the local institutions in the different European countries will be presented in introduction. The study conducted by Les Arcs European Film Festival, and is supported by the Sisley Foundation, the CNC and France Télévision.
The conference will be moderated by Geoffroy Grison, co-president of the association le Deuxième Regard.
